SECOND LIFE

It was the 24th Monday of the year 1988.Karthyayini Nursing home located in Thrissur, as usual, had a handful of complex pregnancy cases.To add to the woes of some superstitious parents,it was the 13th day of that month(June actually).But,there was one not-so-very abnormal case of someone giving birth to a boy at her 8th month of pregnancy.He must have been really bored spending those eight months alone and on that day he decided that he could not bear that loneliness anymore.But it was not gonna be a 'He happily lived ever after' kinda story,he was born underweight (1.5 kg) and was so weak that he could not even breathe properly(price you pay for being impatient???!!!).They put him in a incubator.There were five other new born babies beside him (not all of them impatient like him) in the same situation.There was heavy rain and lightning that night,but not more heavy than the fear in the minds of those six parents for it was very cruelly frequent that babies put in the incubator die,and that day was no different.
Unluckily,five of those six children did not survive.Luckily,he survived and no prize for guessing that he even went on to write this blog.
